Description

Gift with warranty from Joan de Rokeby of Coventr' spinster, to William de Borbache merchant of Coventr' of a tenement with the buildings erected thereon in `minori vico parci' [Little Park Street] in Coventr' lying in breadth between le Dedelone and the tenement of the heirs of Geoffrey de Dunchurche and extending in length from the said street to the tenement of Hugh le Hosier; to hold the same of the chief lord of the fee rendering annually 2 1/2 pence (4 terms); and for this the said William gives 2 marks. Witnesses: Robert called Baker (Pistor), bailiff of Coventr', Peter Barun, William de Schepeye, John de Longeleye, Henry de Wycho and many others. Dated at Coventr': Wednesday next after the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, 1303. Seal on tag: vesica-shaped, white, broken. An eight pointed ornament. Legend indecipherable.
