Draft bill of complaint of Edward Foster of Exton, co. Rutland, gent., Thomas Trye of Beelye in the parish of Berkeley, co. Glos., gent., and John Crow of Meryden, gent., the administrator of Edmund Gregory, late of Mylende in the parish of Stebenheath, co. Middx., gent., addressed to Sir Francis Bacon, knight, Lord Chancellor of England, alleging that Jane Gregorye, now deceased, and John Gregorye, on 16 January 1608/9 [no. DR10/1237], leased to Edmund Gregorye, the manor of Kingshull, late in the tenure of Edward Marbery, and Rabbecroft mills and the closes called Rabbecrofts, then and now in the tenure of Thomas Greswold [details as in no. DR10/1632]; that Edmund Gregorye assigned the said lands to the said Edward Foster and Thomas Trye [as in no. DR10/1632]; that the said John Gregorye had refused to accept payments of the rent offered to him by the said Edward and Thomas so that he could claim the lease to be void through non-payment of the same; and that, on this protext, he entered the said premises and discharged the tenants from paying any rents to the said Edward Foster and Thomas Trye.
