Description

Copy memorandum of agreement made on that day between Robert Knight of Barrels esq. and Henry Taylor of Freemans Green in Ullenhall carpenter, whereby the said Robert Knight in consideration of the said Henry Taylor undertaking to erect a cottage on part of a pleck of ground opposite the Catherlough Arms public house in Ullenhall, agreed to allow all materials that could be found from old buildings on Crowlies farm then pulled down and the sum of £20 for workmanship and for other necessary materials, and to grant a lease of such new cottage with a suitable garden for 21 years at an annual rent of 5s. payable quarterly from June 24 then following, if the said Henry Taylor, his mother Mary Taylor and his then wife Hannah or one of them should so long live. Henry Taylor agreed not to yield up possession of the premises to any one without consent in writing of Robert Knight, and he further agreed in consideration of an additional £15 to be paid him by Robert Knight to pull down his then dwelling at Freemans Green and yield up possession of his garden and site there forthwith.
