Baddesley Clinton

Description

Gift from John Blakenhale chaplain, Richard Whiteley and Thomas Hukyns to John Burdet of Weston co. Sotherey [Surrey] of lands, tenements, rents, reversions, services and appurtenances in Baddesley Clynton' which the grantors held by gift and feoffment of Joan Burdet of Warrewyk' widow, which had belonged to Oliver Burdet. To hold the same for ever from the chief lords of the fee for due and customary service, with the condition that the said John Burdet should pay to the said Joan Burdet the annual sum of 16s. at the feasts of St. John the Baptist and St. Andrew the Apostle in equal portions. The said grantors to have the right to re-enter the said lands if the said rent was overdue beyong fifteen days. Sealing clause. Witnesses: Thomas Hertyll esq.; Thomas Estopp' Master of the Gild of the Holy Trinity Warr'; William Elys of the same and many others.
