Description

Will of Rebecca Dulcibella Dering, wife of Edward Heneage Dering of Baddesley Clinton esq. whereby her said husband was appointed executor of the said will and was also to have all wines, provisions and household stuff belonging to the said Rebecca at the time of her death. All the pictures and other valuables belonging to the said Rebecca listed in the appended schedule were to pass to the said Edward for the term of his life, then to Henry Ferrers Ferrers of Coptfold Hall, Ingatestone, Essex, esq., nephew of Edward Marmion Ferrers, the former husband of the said Rebecca, and after his death to pass to trustees to be appointed by the said Rebecca so that the said articles might be enjoyed as heirlooms by the persons for the time being entitled to the mansion house of Baddesley Clinton according to the will and codicil of her said late husband dated 17 July 1874 and 6 November 1876. An inventory of the said articles was to be made and two copies of this were to be signed by each successive tenant for life, one copy to be held by the said tenant and the other by the said trustees. All legacy duties and other expenses relating to the said will were to be paid from the personal estate of the said Rebecca, the residue of which was to pass to her said husband. Henry Ferrers Ferrers and Frederick Halsey Janson of 41, Finsbury Circus, London, solicitor, were named as trustees of the said will. The schedule appended contained plate and other articles bequeathed to the said Rebecca by her former husband Marmion Edward Ferrers, silver, plate, books, china etc. bequeathed to the said Rebecca by her aunt Georgiana, Lady Chatterton, and various items of furniture and pictures including family portraits and religious subjects, some of which had been painted by the said Rebecca and Georgiana. 9 August 1890.
