Bishopton manorial records: Archer of Tanworth

Description

Statement by William Askewe, Lapworth, yeoman, that, when he held the Lordship of the manor of Bishopton he received a rent charge of 26/8d from lands called the Oxleasow in Clopton, and which he received until he sold the Lordship. There was once a question about it and Mr. Combe the lawyer was consulted, who told Clopton it had to be paid. Clopton paid it as long as Askew held the lordship. Unsigned, but witnessed by William Attwoode, Robert Askewe and John Smyth.
