Description

Assignment by Elizabeth Hicks, of Stratford upon Avon, widow, to George Tasker, of Stratford, mason, only son of John Tasker, of a mortgage of a messuage etc. in Wood Street, originally made by the said George Tasker, 19 January 1763, to John Meacham and by him assigned, 30 September 1771, to Elizabeth Hicks; the said messuage being built on part of land etc. which was leased by Lionel Cranfield Sackville, Duke of Dorset, 27 February 1743, to Benjamin Hughes for 99 years or the lives of Ann, his wife, and Edward and Benjamin his sons, and part of which `whereon a crab mill formerly stood', near the Meer pool, was assigned by Benjamin Hughes to John Tasker, and also leased by the Duke of Dorset to the same on 20 February 1750 for 99 years.
