Assignment of money: Clopton Charters

Assignment dated 9 March 22 James I [1625], by Jane Nevill, wife of `Edmond of Latymer, commonlye called Earle of Westmorland' to William Clopton, senior, of Sledwick, co. Durham, esq., in consideration of a Marriage between William, his son and heir, and Anne, her daughter, of £1000 out of the arrears of her annuity of £600 granted by the Crown on 25 January 14 James I [1617]. Signed 'Jane Westmorland'. Enrolled in the exchequer, 24 March 1624/5 (Old style) [1625]. Seal, impression indistinct. Witnesses: John Clopton, Robert Crosby and William Gatonby.
