Quitclaim: Chapel Lane, Stratford-upon-Avon

Description

Quitclaim from John Wylkyns of Halesowen, co. Worcs., lately dwelling in Stourbridge, to John Smyth, tailor, of Stratford-upon-Auon and Alice his wife, of all his right in one half burgage in Dedelone [Chapel Lane] between the land of the Abbot of Reading and the land of the Prioress of Pinley. Witnesses: John Sclatter, capital bailiff of the town of Stratford, John Harrop and William Couper, sub-bailiffs, John Webbe and John Mayell. Dated at Stratford on the feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, 21 Henry VI [1443]. Circular seal of red wax: a merchant's mark.
