Lease and Release: Stretton-on-the-Fosse

Description

Indentures of Lease and Release (with counterpart release) between William Baldwyn of Longdon Travers in the parish of Tredington, gent., of the first part, Walter Perry of Honington, dyer, and Thomas Bury of Lower Quinton, yeoman, of the second part and Hester Brock of Shipston-on-Stour, widow, of the third part (reciting that a marriage was intended between William Baldwyn and Hester Brock), whereby it was witnessed that William Baldwyn, in consideration of the intended marriage and of the sum of £500 to him paid as a Marriage portion of the said Hester Brock, conveyed to Walter Perry and Thomas Bury the hereditaments referred to in ER3/2172 to the use of William Baldwyn until the Solemnisation of the Marriage, then to the use of William Baldwyn for life, with remainder to the use of Hester Brock for her life, and then to the use of the heirs male of the body of William Baldwyn and Hester Brock. Witnesses: William Gibson, John Bury and Samuel Arundell.
