Marriage Settlement: Sawbridge

Description

Settlement dated 2 February 1693/4 (Old style) [1694], on the Marriage of William Goode of Pailton in the parish of Monks Kirby, gent., and Elizabeth, youngest daughter of William Howkins of Brownsover, gent, being a conveyance from William Goode to Humphrey Clarke of Thurlaston, gent., and John Howkins of South Mimms, co. Middx., esq., eldest son of the said William Howkins, for £200 to him paid by William Howkins, of a close of pasture called Heventoft alias the Lake, containing twenty-one acres, another meadow called the Little Lake adjoining the Fosse Lane containing six acres and one half yard land in the common fields of Sawbridge more particularly described therein to uses and trusts therein specified. Witnesses: John Smith, Richard Wafels and Andrew Hull.
