Marriage Settlement: Quinton and Honeybourne

Description

Settlement on the Marriage of John Savage, gent., son and heir of Thomas Savage of Nobury, co. Worcs., and Anne Daston the eldest daughter of Richard Daston of Wormington, co. Glos., esq., being a demise from William Savage of Elmley Castle, co. Worcs., gent., and Thomas Savage to John Savage, son of William Savage, and Francis Langston, of Sedgeberrow, co. Worcs., gent., of certain meadows and hereditaments in Meon and Quinton in the occupation of Thomas Savage, all which premises the said Thomas Savage and William Savage purchased of Sir Edward Greville, Knt., of Milcote, and of one William Bowker, and a half moiety of a house and meadows in Honeybourne also purchased of the said Sir Edward Greville; to hold for 60 years ensuing after the death of John Savage (son of Thomas Savage) upon trust for Ann Daston if she so long live and, if she survive the said John Savage. Covenant by Thomas Savage with John Savage and Francis Langston that he, Thomas Savage, would yearly after the decease of the said John Savage, pay to Ann Daston for further augmentation of her jointure, the sum of £88 per annum with a proviso that, if the said Thomas Savage or his heirs should assure to the use of the said Anne lands to the yearly value of £200 for her life, that the demise should be void. Witnesses: Giles Savage, Arthur Bagshawe, Raphael Hunt, John Savage, Edmund Whyte and William Whyte.
