Bargain Sale and feoffment from Robert Ashby of Chelmscote in the parish of Brailes, grazier, and William Halford of Adderbury, co. Oxford, shopkeeper, to George Upton of Lower Brailes, innholder or victualler, of a messuage with appurtenances in Nether Brailes[Lower Brailes] formerly in the successive occupations of Francis Cooper, mercer, Thomas Rymill, Thomas Soden and William Gregory. Formerly conveyed by Thomas Soden of Lower Brailes, cordwainer, to the Grantors in trust to sell the same to repay a Mortgage of £40 owed by the said Thomas Soden to Francis Miles. This conveyance being made subject to this Mortgage for the consideration of £22. Signed and sealed by the Grantors. Witnesses to sealing delivery of Seisin: John Upton and Francis Godson.
