Probate Copy of Will: John Poollin, Shipston-on-Stour

Description

Probate copy of the Will of John Poollin of Shipston-upon-Stour, schoolmaster. Bequests: to his wife Elizabeth all furniture, linen and plate to furnish a cottage. To his sister Ann, wife of John Keen of Puttenham, Surrey, gardener, £19.19s. Residue of estate bequeathed to his friends Charles Wilson and Samuel White of Shipston-upon-Stour in trust to sell the same and invest the proceeds, half of which were to be given to his said wife Elizabeth. The interest from the other half was to be used for the use of his said wife during her lifetime, then for the use of his said sister Ann, then to his said brother in law John Keen during their successive lifetimes, with reversion to the children of the said John and Ann. Appointed these trustees as executors. Witnesses: Samuel Soleman and H. Mountford. Proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury. Estate sworn under £450. Testator died 4 March 1849.
