Deed dated 8 March 1647/8 (old style) to declare the uses of a fine levied Michaelmas last past, between William Moore, London, girdler, and Margaret his wife, Edward Wagstaffe, Warwick, gent., and Mary his wife, Francis Ainge, Stratford-upon-Avon, gent. and Elizabeth his wife. (1) Francis Smith, Stratford-upon-Avon, ironmonger, John Taylor, Stratford-upon-Avon, mercer (2) John Brookes, Stratford-upon-Avon, mercer (3) Richard Hunt, Stratford-upon-Avon, mercer (4) Henry Cawdry, Stratford-upon-Avon, yeoman (5) in re premises purchased by Cawdry, viz (1) Messuage in Greenhill Street, formerly in possession of Thomas Moore, father of William and of Thomas Peeters his tenant, since in occupation Henry Pratt and William Plymmer and abutted on west by messuage of William Green, on east by house of Christopher Smith and on south by street (purchased by Henry Cawdry from William Moore and Margaret). (2) Messuage in Ely Street, being a corner house, the north side abutting on the east end of Ely Street, the east side being on the north end of Chapel Street abutting towards the Market House (purchased by Richard Hunt from Francis Ainge and Elizabeth) [Nos. 12-13 Chapel Street]. (3) 2 acres of meadow near Stratford Stone Bridge lately purchased by John Brookes from Edward Wagstaff.
