Lease: High Street, Stratford-upon-Avon

Description

Lease dated 1 February 1703/4 (Old style) [1704] from the Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of Stratford-upon-Avon, to John Huckhill of Stratford, chandler, of a messuage in Stratford in the High Street 'knowne by the name or signe of the Bull' now or late in the tenure of Samuel Warner and Thomas Lebeter, and a messuage called 'the Goale' adjoining 'the Bull', the said two messuages being bounded by a tenement in the tenure of Gabriel Holland on the West and a messuage of Sarah Court, widow, in the tenure of the said John Huckhill on the South; to hold for 60 years for a fine of £50 and a yearly rent of £1.6s.8d and one couple of capons to the Mayor on 1 January.
