Indenture of conveyance between William Edwards of Newmarket, co. Cambs., gent. and Charles Davis of Ascot Heath, co. Berks., gent. of the first part, Jane Milward of Neithrop, co. Oxon., spinster of the second part, the Reverend Thomas William Lancaster, late of Banbury but then of Magdalen College, Oxford, clerk, and Anne, his wife of the third part, George Robert Michael Ward of Trinity College, Oxford, esq. and John Whippy of the Lodge, Hillingdon, co. Middx., esq. of the fourth part, John Munton and Thomas Draper, both of Banbury, gents. of the fifth part, Ann Golby of Banbury, spinster of the sixth part, the Reverend Edward Gibbs Walford of Chipping Warden, co. Northants., clerk of the seventh part, the Reverend Charles Francis Wyatt of Broughton, co. Oxon., clerk of the eighth part, William Townsend of Doctors Commons, London, esq. of the ninth part, the Reverend Edward James Townsend, rector of Ilmington of the tenth part, Bartle John Lowrie Frere of Lincolns Inn, gent. of the eleventh part, John Munton and Thomas Draper of the twelfth part, George Cobb of the Common in the parish of Sevenoaks, co. Kent., esq. of the thirteenth part, Samuel Forster of Lincoln's Inn, gent. of the fourteenth part and Henry Goodford of the same place, gent. of the fifteenth part (reciting ER3/2101-2104, ER3/2111-ER3/2131, ER3/2143-ER3/2161 and also that Thomas Cobb, a trustee of a term of 1000 years created by ER3/2101-2104 by his will, dated 17 July 1822, appointed his brother, George Cobb, and James Wake Golby his executors; and reciting the death of Thomas Cobb in 1837, and reciting that Thomas Wyatt died, 2 January 1842, intestate leaving Charles Francis Wyatt his nephew his heir at law; and reciting that William Edwards and Charles Davis had that day paid to Jane Milward £2,800 with interest thereon and that William Edwards and Charles Davis, the said George Robert Michael Ward and John Whippy and John Munton and Thomas Draper had agreed to sell the whole of the hereditaments aforesaid to William Townsend and Edward James Townsend for £10,250, and that William Townsend had agreed to sell part of the hereditaments for £5,240 and Edward James Townsend for the residue for £5,010 whereby it was witnessed that, in consideration of £10,250 paid by William Townsend and Edward James Townsend in the manner thereinafter mentioned, (that is to say, £2,620 by William Townsend and £2,505 by Edward James Townsend - making one half of the purchase price - paid to William Edwards and Charles Davis, and £1,310 by William Townsend and £1,252 10s 0d by Edward James Townsend - making one fourth of the purchase price - paid to George Robert Michael Ward and John Whippy, by the direction of the Reverend Thomas William Lancaster and Anne his wife, and of £1,310 by William Townsend and £1,252 10s 0d by Edward James Townsend - making another fourth of the purchase price - paid to John Munton and Thomas Draper, at the direction of Edward Gibbs Walford and with the privity of Ann Golby), they, the said Jane Milward and William Edwards and Charles Davis (as to one half moiety) and the said George Robert Michael Ward and John Whippy, at the direction of the Reverend Thomas William Lancaster and Anne his wife, (as to one fourth part) and John Munton and Thomas Draper, at the direction of Edward Gibbs Walford and Ann Golby (as to the remaining fourth part), and Charles Francis Wyatt, at the direction of the persons of the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh parts, conveyed to Bartle John Lowrie Frere, first, Littleworth Farm containing 152a 2r 3p with appurtenances, and second, land containing 46a 0r 36p in Honington; as to the first mentioned hereditaments, to William Townsend, and, as to the second mentioned hereditaments, to Edward James Townsend; and it was further witnessed that John Munton and Thomas Draper assigned to Samuel Forster the term of 1000 years in the said hereditaments assigned to them by ER3/2143, and also George Cobb assigned to Henry Goodford the term of 1000 years created by ER3/2101-2104 and assigned to Thomas Cobb by ER3/2143, in trust to attend the inheritance. Witnesses: William Munton, Thomas Kitts Walford, Samuel B. Charlesworth, Ann Lovell and James William Crane.
