Kingshill in Stoneleigh deeds and papers

Description

Attested copy of an assignment from David Bull, gent., and Margaret his wife, late the wife and executrix of Edward Marbury of Canley, gent., deceased (the executor of his brother George Marbury, also deceased), to John Bott of Fynham in the parish of Stonly, yeoman, of a lease, dated 22 May, 24 Elizabeth [no. 1229] from Arthur Gregorye of Stivechall, esq. to the said George Marbury, citizen and haberdasher of London, of the grange or township of Kingeshill with all the appurtenances within the village of Kingeshill, late in the several occupations of William Fynnys, Richard Sharrat, Thomas Morris, John Cattall and William Stratford, for 60 years, rendering annually 10 pounds and suit of court at the manor of Helinhull; which lease was devised under the will of the said George Marbury, dated 16 April, 26 Elizabeth and proved 1 July 1584, to the said Edward Marbury; and which was later devised, under the will of the said Edward Marbury, dated 21 September last, to the said John Bott on the payment of certain sums of money to his executrix; to hold the same to the said John Bott for the remainder of the said term of 60 years, free from all claims except one lease from the said Edward Marbury to Henry Hart of Kingshill, husbandman, dated 1 October, 41 Elizabeth [1598], of a cottage and close in Kingeshill now in the tenure of the said Henry Hart, with common of pasture for two beasts and a breeder on the common of Kingeshill, for 17 years.
