Cheeke, Russell Tipping families: Archer of Tanworth

Description

William Burgh [accountant general] to Mr. Auditor Harley [Edward Harley, auditor of the imprest] Copy of letter. He has done all that he can to serve Lady Russell, both with Mr. Harrison and in stating and clearing the accounts. Lady Dorchester may still pay the surplus of £1,500 into the Exchequer, but if she should agree to pay it to Lady Russell instead the latter should get letters of attorney from Mr. Conyers (to whom, with Dr. Colladon, her grant is directed to be paid), in order that she may receive the money and give a discharge. He discusses the best way of getting the money paid, and how he is going to clear up the confused methods of Messrs. Burton and Harrison.
