Knight of Barrells

Description

Lease and release the release being a conveyance from Edward Courte of Ulberrough alias Olborough alias Oldborrough [Oldberrow] co. Worcs. yeoman, son of Frances Courte relict of William Courte brother and heir of John Courte late of Oldberrow aforesaid yeoman decd., to George Fulwood of Little Alne esq. for £92.3s. of all those parcels of land, coppice, meadow and woodground known as Ley croftes in Ullenhall in the parish of Wootton Wawen between Bilsley meadow on one side and the king and queen's highway on the other side, then or late in the occupation of the said Edward Courte, also one annuity or yearly rentcharge of 8s. per annum arising out of Barrels meadow in Ullenhall formerly granted to the ancestor of Edward Courte by one Nicholas Knight of Barrels green for a certain dreyne or watercourse through the said Ley Croftes coppice and then payable by William Knight esq., to hold to the said George Fulwood and his heirs for ever, free of all incumbrances except one mortgage by demise for 1000 years made by the said Edward Courte to one John Stanford of Gorcote hill in Beoly co. Endorsed with memoranda: 1. that the said William Knight tenant in possession of Barrels meadow attorned tenant to the said George Fulwood for the said rent of 8s. `and gave him sixpence by way of seisin'. Witnesses: Tho: Sanders, Edm: Rawlins. 2. that the said Edward Courte acknowledged having received the consideration money.
