Description

Office copy will and codicil of those dates of Robert Knight of Barrels co. Warwick and of Grosvenor Square in Westminster esq. as follows: Expenses of funeral not to exceed £100. Remains to be placed in vault under family pew at Chadshunt. Three calendar months' wages to each of his domestic servants. To his butler Joseph Sharpe an annuity of £25 for life, to be allowed him by testator's daughter Frances Elizabeth Knight and after her decease by his daughter Georgiana King, wife of Edward Bolton King esq. To Robert Myddelton Biddulph of Chirk Castle co. Denbigh esq., Lt.-Col. Thomas Myddelton Biddulph, Master of the Queen's Household, and Richard Baker Wingfield of the Middle Temple esq. all his reduced 3 per cent annuities in trust to pay the annual proceeds to his daughter Frances Elizabeth Knight for life, and after her decease to his daughter Georgiana King, and after her decease to such of his 7 grandchildren (King) as should survive him and attain the age of 21 years. To the same R.M. Biddulph and T.M. Biddulph the Upper Marlborough close in Studley and a close adjoining occupied by Widow Priest, in trust for the same purposes as were specified for certain other freehold estates in Studley and Ipsley by indenture dated 28 March 1850 between himself and the same trustees. To his daughter Frances Elizabeth Knight the tithe rent-charge of £4 per annum charged on the Boblake closes in Studley, his freehold messuage in Grosvenor Square in which he then lived and all the residue of his real and personal estate absolutely. In the event of her (Frances's) death in his lifetime, these bequests to go to his daughter Georgiana King, and in the event of her (Georgiana's) death to his son-in-law Edward Bolton King. He appointed his daughter Frances Elizabeth Knight sole executrix, and in the event of her death his daughter Georgiana King. Dated: 28 July 1854. Signed: R. Knight. To his daughter Georgiana King all arrears of rent owing at his decease from the messuages and lands in Chadshunt and Gaydon whereof he was tenant for life. To Robert Myddelton Biddulph of Chirk Castle, £100. To Colonel Thomas Myddelton Biddulph, £100. To Richard Baker Wingfield, £100. To his grandson Edward Raleigh King, £200. To Mr. Edward Cooper of Henley-in-Arden land agent, £50. To his butler Joseph Sharpe, £50. On the death of his daughter Frances Elizabeth Knight the four pictures (specified) to be taken to Chadshunt and given to his daughter Georgiana King. Dated and signed as above. Witnesses: Thos. Layton, 14 Moore Street, Chelsea, and 60 Piccadilly, James L. Stockley, 53 Sydney Street, Brompton, and 60 Piccadilly. Proved at London with a codicil, 1 February 1855.
