Archer of Tanworth

Description

Copy will of Henry Archer of Hale, co. Hants., esquire, requesting burial at Hale near the tomb of his uncle, Thomas Archer, and giving to trustees (George, Earl of Halifax and his brother, Thomas Lord Archer) his mansion house at Hale and lands at Hale, North Charford, South Charford and Searchfield, to hold for the benefit of his wife, Lady Elizabeth Archer, according to the conditions of her marriage settlement; also to the same trustees for the benefit of his wife, a leasehold estate called Lodge Farm, held of Corpus Christi College, Oxford, leasehold houses in Grosvenor Square and Duke Street, and property in Childockford, co. Dorset, Leason, Nidson and Swanage on the Isle of Purbeck, Ratley, Budbrooke, Claverdon, Langley, Henley-in-Arden, Beaudesert, and Warwick, co. Warws., and a mansion house at Wetherock Hill, and land in King's Norton, Inkberrow and Alvechurch, co. Worcs.; and after her death to the use of any issue, but in default, for the benefit of the second son of his nephew Andrew Archer of Umberslade, and his issue, or in default to the third son etc.
