Long Marston papers
Conveyance from Piercy Grove, late of Shipston-on-Stour, woolstapler, and now of Cow Honeybourne, co. Worcs., yeoman, Mary Grove of Inkberrow, co. Worcs., spinster, Esther Grove of the same, spinster, Thomas Grove of the same, draper and grocer, and William Grove of Cow Honeybourne, farmer (all younger children of John Rose Grove, late of Mickleton, co. Glos., gent., eldest son and heir of John Grove late of Cow Honeybourne, gent., by Mary his wife, formerly Mary Rose, spinster), with the consent of their mortgagees, Richard Deakins of Severn Stoke, co. Worcs., yeoman, and John Wilmore of Worcs., surgeon, to Thomas Corbett the younger of Lower Quinton, gent., for £1440 (£500 to John Wilmore, £800 to Richard Deakins and £140 to Piercy Grove, Mary Grove, Esther Grove, Thomas Grove and William Grove) of four closes of land in Long Marston, containing 24 acres late in the tenure of John Grove, but now of Thomas Corbett. With the following recitals: i) 12 13 May 1811: mortgage from Piercy Grove, Mary Grove, Esther Grove, Thomas Grove and William Grove, to Joseph Bomford of Atch Lench, co. Worcs., gent., of the said premises, settled on them by their father, John Rose Grove; to secure £800. ii) 14 15 August 1814: assignment of mortgage from Joseph Bomford to Richard Deakins. iii) 3 March 1815: second mortgage from Piercy Grove, Mary Grove, Esther Grove, Thomas Grove and William Grove to John Wilmore, to secure £500.
