Description

Mortgage from Thomas Morris of Wood Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, member of the Warwick and Warwickshire Permanent Benefit Building Society, to the said Building Society of 31 High Street, formerly in the occupation of John James Hedges, then of Henry Cordingley and now of Frederick Winter; and also a messuage in Tasker's Passage, leading from High Street, formerly in the occupatuion of Thomas Gibbs, then of Thomas Taplin, then of Ann Taplin and now having a piece of land formerly on which a malthouse stood [see DR274/1], formerly belonging to John Walker, afterwards to Thomas Holder and now to John Holder on the one side and a messuage formerly belonging to Thomas Gibbs and afterwards to Sarah Wilkins on another side; also a small piece of garden ground having a garden formerly belonging to John Tasker but now to Charles Wesley North on the west side, other property belonging to the said Thomas Morris on the east side and property belonging to the Corporation of Stratford-upon-Avon on the remaining part of the east side, Tasker's Passage on the south side and property formerly belonging to the said Thomas Gibbs and afterwards to the said Sarah Wilkins on the north side; also a small piece of land, formerly two pieces of land on one of which stood a malthouse lying in Tasker's Passage, having a malthouse belonging to the Corporation of Stratford-upon-Avon on the north side, and Tasker's Passage on the south side, adjoining at the east end a cottage formerly belonging to the said Thomas Gibbs, afterwards to Margaret Hollery and now to the said Thomas Morris and extending westwards 27 yards 1 foot in length and 15 feet in breadth; also a messuage in Tasker's Passage formerly belonging to Thomas Gibbs and formerly in the occupation of William Richmond and now of James Steele, having a messuage fronting High Street formerly belonging to the said Thomas Gibbs, afterwards to Henry Cross and now to the said Thomas Morris on the one side and a messuage formerly belonging to the said Thomas Gibbs, afterwards to Thomas Tapler and now to the said Thomas Morris on the other side; and also a small piece of garden ground having a garden formerly belonging to John Tasker and now to Charles Wesley North on the west side, a piece of garden ground formerly belonging to the said Thomas Gibbs, afterwards to the said Thomas Tapler and now to the said Thomas Morris, on the south side, property belonging to the Corporation of Stratford-upon-Avon on the east side and property belonging to George Henry Howard and Thomas Pearce on the north side; to secure £650.
