Description

Copy of an order in Chancery in the case between Simon Chambers, plaintiff, and John Gregory, Margaret his wife and Edward Waste, defendants; dated 9 November, 6 Charles I. Having been alleged by John Gregorye that the attachment taken out on the affidavit of John Burdett was not warranted either by the order of 4 May [no. DR10/1677] or the affidavit [no. DR10/1681], it is ordered that the six clerks not towards the cause should compare the said order and affidavit, and if they decide that the contempt is outside this court, then the attachment is to be discharged and the bill of complaint dismissed from this court, unless Simon Chambers shows good cause to the contrary. Followed by a note dated 19 November 1630 that it is thought that the attachment is unwarranted, and a further note, dated 29 November 1630, that there has been no cause shown to the contrary.
