Description

Assignment by the Hon. John Yorke of Lincolns Inn, co. Middx., esq., at the request of John Knottesford, Bridgetown, Alveston, Warwickshire, esq., and at the nomination of Robert, Earl of Catherlough and by consent of Sir Gilbert Heathcote of Normanton, co. Rutland, baronet, to Joseph Cruttenden, Surgeons Hall, London, gent., reciting mortgages made by John Knottesford in 1738 and 1744 and other instruments by which these were assigned or came to the said John Yorke as trustee of the Rt. Hon. Philip Lord Hardwicke, baron of Hardwicke, co. Glos., Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain and then of Sir Gilbert Heathcote, in consideration of £4,200 paid to the last-named by Robert, Earl of Catherlough, such sum being part of the general purchase money of £11,300 mentioned in DR 36/24, of the residue of two several terms of 1000 years in messuages known as the Priory and the Holt and lands thereto belonging in Studley in trust for the said Robert Earl of Catherlough.
