Petition of Richard Archer to the King [DR37/2/83/12] concerning case over forged documents of title to lands in Shropshire and Leicestershire reciting 4 April 1462, distraint upon Manor of Wilden, Beds by Henry Beche Christian his wife, for which they claimed authority under grant alleged to be made by Archer. Case tried in London where alleged grant allegedly made, at which time, although Archer proved he was not in London at time of making of alleged grant case was non-suited. Beche has since distrained further cattle to value pound;30 to distress of tenants. Asks King Council to deal with matter
