Description

Disentailing deed being a release in fee from the Rev. Henry Charles Knight, late of Bognor co. Sussex but then of Oak Hill House, Cowes, Isle of Wight, clerk, to William Parke of No. 63 Lincolns Inn Fields co. Middx. gent., reciting the will of Robert earl of Catherlough dated 11 February 1772, and codicil dated 24 February 1772, and that testator died on 30 March 1772, and that Robert Knight married the Hon. Frances Dormer in 1791 and by her had issue four children viz. Henry Knight born 179[ ] and died an infant without issue, Frances Elizabeth Knight, Georgiana Knight and the said Henry Charles Knight, born 1813, and reciting the Act of 1808, and the death of Robert Knight on 5 January 1855, and the declaration (no. DR 225/27) dated 9 January 1855, and that he as surviving son of Robert Knight was or claimed to be entitled to an estate in tail male in all the real and personal estates of the said Robert earl of Catherlough, and being desirous of having the said estates discharged from entail and vested in him absolutely, it was then witnessed that the said Henry Charles Knight conveyed to the said William Parke free of entail all the said manors, messuages and lands, and assigned to him all the monies and personal estate intended to be laid out in purchase of such estates under the will of 1772 or Act of 1808, in trust for the said Henry Charles Knight. Endorsed as having been enrolled in the High Court of Chancery, 12 January 1855.
