Demise upon Trust: Barnacle

Description

Agreement between Richard Overton of Barnacle in the parish of Bulkington, yeoman, and Obediah Perkins of Weston in the same parish, yeoman, and Henry Knibb of Ansty, husbandman, (reciting that Richard Overton was by several bonds indebted to his father Thomas Overton in the sum of £60 which the said Thomas Overton has delivered up to be cancelled in consideration of the said Richard maintaining Anne Overton, daughter of Thomas Overton and sister of Richard Overton) whereby Richard Overton, by the direction of Thomas Overton, demised to Obediah Perkins and Henry Knibb all his halfyard land in the tenure of Richard Smyth of Shilton, husbandman, situate in Barnacle (being the halfyard land belonging to a tenement in Barnacle called the Killne house) for 99 years after the death of Richard Smyth, if the said Anne Overton should so long live, at a yearly rent of one peppercorn, upon trust to employ the rents and profits for the maintenance of the said Anne Overton.
