Description

Enfeoffment by Simon Cale senior, of Bishopton, yeoman, and Simon Cale junior, of Stratford-upon-Avon, yeoman, to Richard Holtam of Crimscoat, yeoman (in consideration of a marriage between the said Simon Cale, junior, and Anne, daughter of the said Richard Holtam and of a marriage portion of £120) of a messuage, three closes and 1 1/2 yardlands in Bishopton, Bishops Hampton [Hampton Lucy], Clopton, Stratford-upon-Avon, Old Stratford, Shottery, Shottery Mead, and Welcombe and 41 lands of arable land, containing 20 acres in the fields of Bishopton, and a messuage in Greenhill Street in Stratford-upon-Avon in the occupation of Simon Cale the younger; to hold one moiety of the messuage and lands first named and of the 20 acres in Bishopton to the use of Simon Cale, senior, for his life, and then to the said Anne for a jointure, with remainder to the heirs of the body of Simon Cale, junior, and the other moiety to the use of Simon Cale, senior, for his life with remainder to the heirs male of Simon Cale, junior, and to hold the messuage in Stratford-upon-Avon to the use of Simon Cale, junior, for life and then to the said Anne for a jointure, with remainder to the heirs of the bodies of the said Simon junior, and Anne.
