Chesterton: early deeds
Description
This appears to be a grant by Thomas [---- [?Leye] ... [?reference to the convent of -----] to John Swineherd ('Porcarum') and Idonia [his wife] for life, of one tenement with croft in Chesterton which the Lady Emma formerly wife of Sir William Leye, holds as dower for life. Also a half virgate of land in the territory of the said town, with all and every its appurtenances. To hold to the said John and Idonia for their lives, paying 4 shillings annually at two terms (Michaelmas and Lady Day). John and Idonia have paid 40 shillings for this grant.
