Chesterton: early deeds

Description

[?Brief for] agreement between James Woodsctok, plaintiff and Thomas Seymour, deforciant respecting three messuages, two carucates and two virgates of land; sixteen acres of meadow and 8s 8d rent, with appurtenances in Kingston, which Alan of Chesterton and Helen his wife hold as dower for the said Helen. Thomas recognises the right of James to hte premises and agrees that the land which the said Alan and Helen hold in right of dower of Helen, shall revert after her death, to James and his heirs, to hold of the chief lord for services due therefrom. For which agreement James has paid Thomas one hundred marks
