Chesterton: early deeds

Description

Grant by Eustace de Hacche, knight to Henry Mile of Chadshunt, for homage and service, of one messuage and one plot, with appurtenancs in Chesterton, which grantor had by gift of Geoffrey Le Ley of Chesterton. To hold in perpetuity, paying one barbed arrow (sagittam barbatam) at Easter for all secular services and 12d to the chief lord of the fee. Warranty clause Witnesses: Gilbert Harpour of Chesterton; Robert Broke of the same; William Seymour of the same; Richard Baldwin; Richard Venor ('Venatore') of Lighthorne; Nicholas the clerk.
