Compton Verney: early deeds

Description

Near contemporary copy of confirmation by John Watten of Lighthorne of feoffment to his sons John and William the younger, of one messuage and carucate of land with meadow and appurtenances which formerly belonged to William Durvassal ('Durvasshale') in the town and fields of Copmton Murdak.

To hold to the said John and William in equal shares for as long as they please.
To hold in heritable fee from the chief lord of the fee, for the accustomed services.
