Grant of Land: Long Marston

Description

Grant by John Tamworth esquire, Gentleman of the Privy Chamber, Thomas Blounte of Kidderminster, esquire and John Duddely of London esquire to Thomas Cowper of Marston Sicca [Long Marston], husbandman, of 5 messuages and 5 virgates of land with appurtenances also 62 selions of land and 5 acres of meadow being parcel of the demesne lands of the Lordship of Marston Sicca, of which demesne lands 2 selions lay in a furlong in a field called Le Hurst, 14 selions lay in a furlong extending towards the Highway called Mickleton Waye, 7 selions lay in a furlong stretching towards Broad Marston Leasowe, one selion lay in a furlong adjacent to Stocke Leasowe, one selion lay in a furlong extending to the site of the Manor aforesaid, 22 selions lay in a furlong called Le Ellans, 5 selions lay in a furlong called Elmesmore, 10 selions lay in another meadow called Elmesmore and 5 acres lay in Courte Meadow, all which premises were then in the occupation of Thomas Cowper, in consideration of £100 previously paid by Thomas Cowper and £81-10-0 to be paid by him at the Manor house of William Sheldon at Beoley, Worcs on the 10th. June 1568, to the grantors to hold the same to Thomas Cowper and the heirs of his body as of the Manor of Marston Sicca in Free Socage by rent 20 pence, suit of Court and onee heriot of the best beast, with remainders over to the heirs of the bodies of Henry Cowper (Father), William Cowper (Grandfather) and Henry Cowper (Great grandfather) successively.
