Mortgage: Laverton, Gloucestershire

Description

Indenture of Mortgage between Thomas Richardson of Laverton, Glos., farmer of one part and Arthur Richardson of Stanton Glos., farmer of the other part Reciting that John Richardson the Elder of Laverton yeoman deceased (father of the said Thomas and Arthur) by his will dated the 21st. May 1784 devised inter alia to the said Thomas and Arthur all his hereditaments in Laverton held by him for lives from Lord Weymouth as tenants in Common, and reciting ER3/2848 and the death of the said Testator and that the said Thomas having entered upon the premises no assent was made with the said Arthur and that £500 was then owing to him. It was thereby witnessed that Thomas Richardson assigned to Arthur Richardson his half moiety of the house, subject to a proviso for redemption. Signed: Thomas Richardson. Seal of red wax bearing letter G. Witness: J. H. Griffiths, Broadway. Endorsed a receipt dated the 29th. May 1812 from Arthur Richardson.
