Counterpart of a Lease from Thomas Phillipps of Middle Hill, Worcs., esquire to Robert Chandler of Buckland, tailor, of a newly erected cottage lying at the Lower end of Buckland with garden adjoining containing 5 luggs with appurtenances then in the occupation of Joseph Chandler, father of the said Robert Chandler, for a term of 99 years if Robert Chandler (son of the said Joseph by Mary, his wife) then aged 37 years, Mary wife of Robert Chandler aged 31 years and John Meadows (son of Thomas and Sarah Meadows of Laverton) aged 17 years or any of them should so long live, at a yearly rent of 2/6 and the payment of 1/- as a heriot upon the dropping of the of any of the said lives and Suit of Court. The consideration for the granting of that Lease being the surrender of a former Lease to Thomas Phillipps esquire and the Payment of £38 by Robert Chandler. Signed: Robert Chandler. Seal of red wax.
