Counterpart of a Lease from Thomas Phillipps of Middle Hill, Worcs., esquire, Lord of the Manor of Buckland and Laverton Glos., to William Lamley of Brockhampton in the parish of Snowshill, Glos., yeoman of a cottage called Pendry's Cottage with garden adjoining containing 16 perches situate in Laverton between the Schoolhouse there and the Farm yard belonging to the late Mr Thomas Freeman's tenement, with all appurtenances to the said Cottage belonging, for a term of the natural lives of John Lamley aged 21 years William Lamley aged 15 years and Charles Lamley aged 14 years (sons of the said William Lamley senior and Sarah, his wife) and the survivor of them, at a yearly rent of 2/6 also the payment of 5/- upon the dropping of any of the said lives as a heriot and Suit of Court. The consideration for the granting of that Lease being the surrender of a former Lease to Thomas Phillipps, esquire and the payment of £21. Signed: William Lamley. Seal of red wax.
