Lease: Buckland and Laverton, Gloucestershire

Description

Lease from the Right Honourable Thomas, Lord Viscount Weymouth, Baron Thynne of Warminster and Lord of the Manor of Buckland and Laverton to Richard Stanley of Snowshill, Glos., yeoman, of a messuage and tenement theretofore Thomas Walker's, with garden orchard and appurtenances; also arable meadow and pasture lying in the Common fields of Buckland and two Cow Commons. Which premises were theretofore in the tenure of Thomas Shaylor and were situate in Buckland, reserving to the Landlord mines and timber and liberty to enclose the Commons upon Burhill upon satisfaction made to the tenant, for a term of 99 years if Charles Stanley and Moses Stanley (aged 4 years) sons of the said Richard Stanley or either of them should so long live, at a yearly rent of 10/- and the payment of £4 as a heriot upon the dropping of either of the said lives and Suit of Court to the Manor Court of Buckland. The consideration for the granting of that Lease being the surrender of a Lease granted by Thomas Viscount Weymouth deceased to Thomas Shaylor and the payment of £42. Signature and seal missing.
