Lease and Release: Sheep Street, Stratford-upon-Avon

Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release dated the 25th March 1776 being a Mortgage by Edward Kitchen of Stratford-upon-Avon, millwright and Thomas Kitchen of the same place, millwright (eldest son and heir at Law of Edward Kitchen) to William Mayo alias Fletcher of Stratford-upon-Avon, baker, of the premises in Sheep Street referred to in ER3/2909 in consideration of £45. And also an assignment by Rose Chaplin of Stratford-upon-Avon, spinster of the Mortgage term of 1000 years in the same premises created by ER3/2909 to John Pearshouse of Stratford-upon-Avon, gentleman in Trust for the said Rose Chaplin until the capital sum of £30 lent by her by ER3/2909 and a further sum of £10 lent by her to William Mayo alias Fletcher with interest had been paid and thereafter to atten dthe inheritance of William Mayo alias Fletcher. Signed by all the parties. Seals of red wax no impression. Witnesses: Sarah Graham and Robert Wheler. Lease dated the 24th. March 1776 from Edward Kitchen and Thomas Kitchen to William Mayo alias Fletcher of the same premises for one year. Signed: Edward Kitchen and Thomas Kitchen. Seals of red wax no impression. Witnessed as before.
