Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release dated the 16th December 1816 whereby Charles John Henry Rowe of the Hill Farm in the Parish of Old Stratford, esquire (only son and heir of Ann Rowe, his late mother deceased by Peter Rowe theretofore of Christchurch, Hants. but then of Laverstock, Wilts. esquire, her husband which Ann Rowe was theretofore Ann Bullock, spinster, one of the daughters of John Bullock of Sharnbrook, Beds., esquire by Sarah, his second wife deceased which Sarah was theretofore Sarah Edwards alias Brownswood, spinster, only child and heiress at Law of Ann Edwards alias Brownswood theretofore of St. Mary, Whitechapel, Middlesex, widow deceased which said Ann, wife of Peter Rowe was devisee of Ann Edwards deceased), mortgaged to Robert Bell Wheler of Stratford-upon-Avon, gentleman, certain hereditaments called Monks Closes and others in Clifford Chambers to hold the said Mortgage in trust for John Hitchman of the Borough of Stratford-upon-Avon currier and leather cutter in consideration of £300 lent by him. Signed: Charles J. H. Rowe, John Hitchman and Robert Bell Wheler. Seals of red wax bearing letters WS. Witnesses Mary Catherine Rowe and Robert Wheler. Lease dated the 14th. December 1816 by the said Charles J. H. Rowe. Sealed and witnessed as before.
