Agreement to Grant a Lease: Ansley

Description

Agreement between John [Newdigate] Ludford of Ansley Hall, esquire and Samuel Whateley of Badgeley Ensor, miller, whereby the said John Ludford covenanted to grant a Lease of a messuage dwellinghouse and Corn Mill and 19 acres of arable meadow and pasture adjoining, also two closes called the Gibbons containing 12 acres also the Hob Stews containing 4 acres for a term of one year commencing from the 25th March then last past and from year to year at a yearly rent of £48-8-0. Signed: J. Ludford and Samuel Wheatly. Seals of red wax 1) an armorial Seal of the Ludford family of Ansley Hall and 2) a boars head erased. Witnesses: Charles Nixon and Catherine Nixon (by her mark).
