Grant of Property: Meer Street and Henley Street, Stratford-upon-Avon

Description

Grant by Peter de Montforte son of Sir John Monteforte, knight to William Molying and Agnes, his wife and their heirs for ever of all the tenements which the said William had theretofore purchased in the town of Stratford-upon-Avon to hold of the chief Lord of that fee etc. and the said William granted to the said Peter his Lord an annual rent of one pair of gloves of the price of two pence or two pence to be paid at the feast of the Nativity, at the Castle of the said Peter in Henleye. And the said William charged the said tenements with distress, which tenements lay between the tenement of Nicholas Kyntone on one side and the tenement of Roger Kennel on the other side extending from a street called Merestrate [Meer Street] to a street called Henleyestrate [Henley Street]. Witnessed by Robert de Val, John le Peyto, John Frannceys of Etingdon, Roger de la Cornere then Bailiff of Stratford and John Beyalys and others. Seals of brown wax 1) de Montford a lion rampant 2) Molyney, a boar.
