Lease and Release: Red Lion, Ely Street, Stratford-upon-Avon

Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release dated the 4th June 1781 being a conveyance by Henry Locock of Northampton, apothecary (nephew and heir at law of John Locock theretofore of Stratford-upon-Avon, silversmith and watchmaker deceased) to Mary Higgins of Stratford-upon-Avon, widow and her heirs, of a messuage called the Red Lion in Ely Street, Stratford-upon-Avon theretofore in the possession of Joseph Green and Rebecca Willes, widow in consideration of £70-10-0 paid by Mary Higgins. Signed: Henry Locock. Seal of red wax. Witnesses: William Mayo and William Francis. Lease for one year by Henry Locock to Mary Higgins of the same premises. Signed, sealed and witnessed as before.
