Description

Probate of the Will of Edmund Mason of Halford whereby he devised to his wife Elizabeth and her heirs for ever a close in Halford, also to the said Elizabeth his messuage in which he dwelt, his close in Cottsbraine and all other his yard land and hereditaments with appurtenances in Halford for her life, with remainder, as to one moiety, for a term of 1000 years, to his daughter Elizabeth Mason and, as to the other moiety, for a term of 1000 years, to the testator's son and daughter, Coventry Mason and Mary Mason respectively in equal shares, provided always that, if the testator's eldest son Edmund Mason or his heirs should within twelve months after the decease of the said Elizabeth wife of the testator, pay to the said Elizabeth the younger £80 and to the said Coventry Mason and Mary Mason £50 each, that then the said terms of 1000 years should cease and determine; also that the share of any of the said three children, Elizabeth, Coventry and Mary, dying before the death of the said Elizabeth wife of the testator, should be equally divided among the survivors. Witnesses: John Rowney, Arthur Rowney, Elizabeth Rowney, John Brent, John Willes and Judith Willes. Proved at Worcester, 1 November 1699.
