Colvile family letters

Volume of letters and other material collected by Frederick Leigh Colvile, vicar of Leek Wootton, concerning his brother, Commander George Twistleton Colvile, born 26th June 1826, died September 1860, when his ship CAMILLA, was lost off the coast of Japan:

Mainly comprises letters written by him while on active service in: the Mediterranean, 1840-1; North and South America, 1842-1844; South Africa and Indian Ocean, 1847-8; and during the Crimean War and its preliminaries, 1853-1855.
