Description

Release by the Right Honorable Katherine Leveson and the Right Honorable the Lady Anne Holborne, Ladies of the Manor of Balsall to Christopher West of Balsall, yeoman of all Fines and Obitts theretofore payable upon every admittance, alienation, settlement, demise, surrender or descent of the premises described in ER3/3205 which was held by Copy of the Court Roll of the Manor of Balsall in consideration of £8-10-0 paid by Christopher West and of the payment thereafter of one penny as Fine and Obitt payable as aforesaid upon the premises And the said Ladies of the Manor quitclaimed to Christopher West and his heirs the Forfeitures in respect of the said premises known as Obitts and Tailsilver for Marriage with or without Licence, or quantity of leases, and in respect a proviso of mowing in the math meadowes or leyes (for which tenants of the Manor were accustomed to receive 7 1/2 and 9 cast of bread and portions of cheese and entertained at Christmas, Easter and Whitsunday which it was agreed was thereby remitted).
