Description

Lease for a year. Sarah Savage the elder of Gloucester, widow and relict of Walter Savage the elder heretofore of the City of Worcester but late of Broadway, esquire deceased, Anne Savage and Sarah Savage both of Gloucester, spinsters, daughters of the said Walter and Sarah Savage, and sisters, co-heirs and devisees of Walter Savage the younger late of Broadway, esquire deceased, who was the only son and heir of Walter Savage the elder, John Cocks of Gloucester, esquire of the one part, and William Taylor of the Inner Temple, London, gentleman of the other part. The said Sarah Savage the elder, Anne Savage, Sarah Savage the younger and John Cocks in consideration of 5/- paid by William Taylor, grants Upper and Lower Mills in Broadway now or late in the tenure of Thomas Richardson, the Short Grove, Short Grove pasture, Dorr Knapp in the tenure of Thomas Smith, theretofore hither part of Middle Hill in the tenure of William Osbaldeston, the New Leasow in the occupation of Richard Richmond gentleman - the two Conygrees in the occupation of Thomas Smith and Stephen White, the Tobacco Close in the occupation of Richard Bloxham - the hither Corn Crofts and the two Henry Acres in the occupation of John White - the Great Corn Croft, the long Pooles and Paines Close in the possession of Thomas Butler all which are in Broadway and held in Jointure by said Sarah Savage the elder. Said lands etc. conveyed to said William Taylor for transferring uses into possession. Signed with seals 6 lioncels rampant in lozenge shield by Sarah Savage, Anne Savage, Sarah Savage Junior and John Cocks. Witnesses: En. Machen, Edward James and John Weston.
