Agreement to Valuation: Broadway

Description

Indenture between the Right Honourable Sir Robert Hampton, knight, Master of His Highness' Court of Wards and Liveries and Sir Benjamin Rudyerd, knight, Surveyor of the same Liveries, for and in the name and behalf of the said Sovereign Lord the King of the one party and Walter Savage, son and heir male of the body of Richard Savage esquire deceased of the other party. Recites that the King is agreed to grant to the said Walter Savage a general livery of and in all such lordship manors lands tenements rent reversions services and other hereditaments with the appurtenances which to the said Walter Savage descended and came in use possession or reversion from the said Richard Savage as son and heir and to the said Richard Savage as in the aforesaid general livery more plainly is contained - nevertheless that the King shall not be deceived but that his Grace should have perfect knowledge and understanding of all those lordships etc. and the yearly value of the same whereof the said Walter Savage intendeth to take any advantage profit etc. by reason of the said general livery and that the King should not be deceived of any lordship manor etc. which be descended and came to the aforesaid Walter Savage by and after the death of the said Richard Savage and the said Walter Savage hath delivered the day of the date hereof to the said Sir Robert Hampton, knight and Sir Benjamin Rudyerd, knight a writing in parchment indented hereunto annexed in which the said Walter Savage covenanteth and promiseth that therein be contained and specified all those lordships etc. and the yearly value of the same which he the said Walter Savage willest and intendeth to have or shall have out of the King's Majesty's hands or possession by the said general livery - the said Walter Savage also covenants with the said Sir Robert Hampton, knight and Sir Benjamin Rudyerd, knight that an auditor and or auditors assigned by the King or his Court of Wards and Liveries shall at the costs and charges of the said Walter Savage value the true value of the same. The properties referred to are mentioned in the schedule as one capital messuage or manor house at Broadway in the Count of Worcester and lands known as the Deane Meadows, the Forgrove, the Baylies Plecke, the Shepehay, the Orchard, the Washe Poole and the close adjoining the same the Great Conygree, the Powle Close, the New Close, the Calf Hay, the Henn Acres, the Moores, the Shortgrove and pasture adjoining the Quarry Breath, the Middle Hill, the Over Willes side, the Nether Willes side the Corne Croft, the Pooles and the Shearehay with divers lands in Broadway valued at £7.
