Description

Counterpart of an Assignment by William Halley of London, esquire to Thomas Hopkins cutler, Thomas Austen, clothmaker and Robert Child, vintner, citizens of London, of a term of 499 years created the 19th May 1629 by demise by Thomas Browne of Over Whitacre, labourer to the said William Halley, of a parcel of Lynsey Peece in which to make a watercourse to take water to a mill then in course of erection by the said William Halley on his land called Whosehall, also another term of 799 years created the 20th May 1633 by Thomas Barber of Over Whitacre, yeoman to the said William Halley, of another parcel of Lynsey Peece belonging to the said Thomas Barber for the above mentioned purpose, together with another parcel of land adjoining the said watercourse on the South side thereof and to other land of the said William Halley, on the North thereof and extending from the mill over the said watercourse Westwards to other land of the said William Halley purchased of the said Thomas Browne Eastward, also another small piece of land extending from the bridge or mill Eastward to other land of the said William Halley called Lynelands Westwards and in breadth between the ditch of the said Thomas Barber and the bank of the said William Halley over against the doore of the said mill which watercourse and little piece of land contained about half an acre.
